What salary can you expect working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology?

Locum O&G Consultants earn approximately $2,000 – $3,000 per day depending on timing and location
Permanent O&G Specialists earn between $250,000 - $500,000 per year
Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) O&G specialists can earn in excess of $500,000 per year
Locum O & G Residents can expect to earn between $85 to $145 per hour
Locum O & G Registrars can expect to earn between $130 to $250 per hour

What qualifications do you need to work in Australia?

The specialist qualification in Australia is Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of O&G (RANZCOG). You can check your training program against the RANZOG training program, to see if it is comparable in terms of content, duration, governance and assessment. If so, you may be able to apply for Specialist Assessment in Australia. The RANZCOG training program is 5 years. Doctors who have completed training in the UK/Ireland (MRCOG + CCT) are often deemed comparable.
