What salary can you expect working in Radiology in Australia?

  • Locum Radiologists with Specialist Registration earn approximately $2500 – $4000 per day inclusive of on call
  • Permanent Radiologists earn between $400000 - $600,000 per year
  • Locum Radiology Residents can expect to earn between $85 to $145 per hour
  • Locum Radiology Registrars can expect to earn between $130 to $250 per hour

What Qualifications do you need to Work In Radiology?

The specialist qualification in Australia is Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. (RANZCR).

You can check your training program against the RANZCR training program, to see if it is comparable in terms of content, duration, governance, and assessment.

If so, you may be able to apply for Specialist Assessment in Australia. The RANZCR training programme is 5 years. Doctors who have completed training in the UK/ Ireland (RCR + RCSI) are often deemed comparable.
