DPA Map Updates 2025 – Great news for GPs relocating to Australia!

With new DPA locations and more job opportunities in high-demand locations, there is no better time to consider a career move.

DPA map updated for many of the locations outlined in the press release on the 10th of March 2025. 

It is not clear if the update is complete yet, but to check a location visit the Health Workforce Locator.


On 10 March 2025 planned DPA map updates have unlocked options in fantastic new locations, where overseas-trained GPs can now work.

This means more opportunities, more incentives, and more communities gaining access to much-needed healthcare.


Here’s the official list of DPA map updates open to overseas trained GPs, offering exciting new opportunities.

The Sunshine Coast (QLD) and areas surrounding Perth (WA) are among the biggest beneficiaries of these updates!


Western Australia (WA)

  • Armadale – Affordable living, scenic parks, picturesque valleys, and cultural heritage
  • Byford – Semi-rural charm with family-friendly amenities
  • Cockburn – Coastal living, close to Fremantle
  • Gosnells – 20kms south of Perth, surrounded by parks.
  • Joondalup (partial DPA) – Thriving hub, nestled in bushland 25mins from Perth CBD
  • Kalamunda – Relaxed Perth Hills living with nature at your doorstep
  • Mundaring – Swan View – Bushland beauty with a peaceful lifestyle
  • Swan – Wine country living with a growing community
  • Wanneroo – Quinns Rocks – Coastal lifestyle with expanding infrastructure


Queensland (QLD)

  • Maroochy –coastal region with a holiday feels all year round.
  • Noosa – Iconic beach town with a relaxed vibe
  • Palmwoods – Scenic hinterland with a close-knit community
  • Surfers Paradise – Iconic beaches and a lively lifestyle
  • The Gap – Leafy lush bushland only 20min drive from Brisbane CBD.


New South Wales (NSW)

  • Campbelltown (partial DPA) – Fast-growing outer Sydney hub, south west of CBD with strong healthcare


Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
